Those of you working on SEO have probably run into this when doing Baidu rankings for your website's keywords: after a lot of effort you finally get a keyword onto the first page, only to find that it's an inner page that's ranking there rather than the homepage. From an optimization standpoint, an inner page ranking well isn't something to celebrate — so what causes it, and what should we do when it happens?
Reasons inner pages rank high
1. Keyword density on the site is too high, causing the site to be demoted
2. All of the homepage keywords appear in the inner pages' titles
3. Newly updated content on the site isn't displayed on the homepage
4. Inner pages have many internal links while the homepage has almost none
5. The homepage content is too homogeneous
Now that the causes are identified, we just need to fix them accordingly. Here's how to adjust:
First: don't let keyword density on the homepage get too high, and don't force keywords in
Second: in the content pages' titles, replace the keywords with the company name or brand name
Third: when publishing a new article, add an anchor text link to the homepage within the content
Fourth: content updated daily needs to be displayed on the homepage — you can add a news/updates section
Fifth: if you can only write one article a day, put just one column in the homepage's dynamic section; otherwise the homepage's rate of change will be too low, which is definitely bad for the site. Also, when setting the TDK of inner pages, the keyword **** should be a long-tail keyword of the main keyword.
That's what I wanted to share about how to solve the problem of inner pages having high weight during website optimization. I hope it helps; the explanation may not be exhaustive, but you can still take it as a reference. If you have other questions, feel free to browse our official site more often!
